Concert performance at SONIC VISIONS
Concert performance, 45 minutes, as part of the audiovisual concert series SONIC VISIONS
The instrument is played with a slider that Koenig rubs across the strings at varying angles. Different positions, directions and speeds create sound spaces ranging from unison through microtonal fusions to broadband sounds of orchestral density and breadth. Even small changes in movement produce intense changes in the sound.
Development of an extended AR interface
In cooperation with the Institute of Media and Imaging Technology at TH Köln and storyLab kiU at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Gero Koenig is developing an extended augmented reality interface for Chordeograph C4AR. The aim is an interactive network installation that invites both the audience present and remote participants to play the instrument through gesture-based control — no musical training required.
